Kristin Rodgers

Kristin has been teaching yoga for over ten years, though her call to yoga began over thirty years ago with VHS tapes and a quest for more meaning and deeper spiritual connections in her life. She received her 200TT in 2012 with Three Sisters Yoga, and her 300TT in 2014-15 with Ishta. Feeling that she found home through the tantric philosophy, kriya techniques, and teachers of the Ishta lineage, she became certified in all the teacher trainings Ishta has led since 2013. Kristin’s classes bridge the ancient teachings of yoga with modern day life. By weaving elements such as alignment, visualization, and “internal seeing,” she conveys how awareness of our physical and energetic bodies affect our emotional body. She also teaches how using the chakra system as a body map allows us to meet, with curiosity, our inner tensions and blocks. She’s a natural intuitive, with a unique ability to tap into the collective, allowing this to flow into each class all while supporting practitioners through an underlying theme of self awareness and self love. She is also certified in children’s yoga, special needs children’s yoga, yoga for seniors, and chair yoga. Much of her early teaching focused on young children and seniors, as well as teaching privately. “Children have been the most powerful teachers for me, showing me what patience, honesty, and the desire to be seen and heard look like,” she says. “At our very core we all want to feel heard, and I’ve found through experience we must first learn to listen to our own hearts.” Kristin resides in Queens and is Mom to four sons, one of whom has Autism.
