Guidelines for Teachers and Trainees
ISHTA Yoga is a trademarked brand name owned by Yogiraj Alan Finger and ISHTA Yoga, LLC. The protection and maintenance of the quality of the ISHTA name as a lineage and a system is of utmost importance to us. As trainees and teachers of ISHTA Yoga, you are representatives of this lineage and responsible for maintaining the integrity of the system. As such, these guidelines have been created for you so that it is clear to you how you can use the ISHTA name appropriately at each level of your training and teaching.
Guidelines
ISHTA 200 Hour Graduate applies to you if you have completed the ISHTA 200 hour Teacher Training and received your ISHTA 200-hour certificate. With the above requirements fulfilled you may:
- Call yourself an “ISHTA 200 Graduate” in your Biography.
- Not call your classes ISHTA or use the ISHTA brand name on your business cards, website, or any other collateral for any purpose not hereby defined.
- Use ISHTA techniques that are taught in the 200-Hour Teacher Training program.
ISHTA 500 Hour Graduate applies to you if you have completed the ISHTA 500-hour Teacher Training program and all of its requirements. With the above requirements fulfilled you may:
- Call yourself an “ISHTA 500 Hour Graduate”
- Refer to yourself as an "ISHTA 500 Hour Graduate" on your business cards, web site, and other personal collateral.
- Not Call your classes ISHTA
- Teach techniques that you have learned in the 500 Hour Teacher Training curriculum
ISHTA Certified Representative applies to you if you have completed your 500 hour Teacher Training and have received your ISHTA 500-hour certificate.
To become an ISHTA Certified Representative, you must:
- Submit a $60 application fee with your application forms to sarah@ishtayoga.com. Click here for application.
- Complete the Certified Representative evaluation process as outlined on this page and in application.
- Obtain approval by select ISHTA senior teachers and/or Alan Finger to represent ISHTA
- Must pay an annual fee of $100 to become a member of the ISHTA Community of teachers
As an ISHTA Certified Representative Teacher you May:
- Call yourself an "ISHTA Certified Representative Teacher"
- Call your classes and workshops ISHTA
- Use the ISHTA name on your business card, website, and other personal collateral
- Teach all ISHTA Techniques you have learned through your extended studies
Please note that if you are on our home schedule, you do not have to go through the evaluation process.
